Luke Ashe-Browne Open source, web technology and feeble attempts at eloquence

About

My Name Is Luke Ashe-Browne. I'm a technology enthusiast as well as professional. I have worked as a network engineer, Microsoft service engineer, IT Manager, Startup CTO, Web Developer both freelance for many years as well as in association with  The Web Page Design Company (I use caps as that is actually the name of the firm).

When i post it, check out my work profile page. Not done yet so watch out for that.

Despite my past jobs, I've always been primarily fascinated by FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) . Linux (and it's cousins) is a remarkable operating system with many advantages over proprietary operating systems, the benefits of the languages and services that can be run on it, by and large for free, far outstrip the skill requirements to run it.

Python, PHP and MySQL are my primary interests at present due to my current occupation. So I will tend to blog about the things that interest me most, so expect webapp development articles a plenty.

I will write about things that happen to me, systems I use, or projects I undertake. I post these up in the hope that someone will benefit from my experiences, or offer and share improvements to my implementations, or corrections of my views expressed here. I by no means know all the answers and appreciate it when I am corrected or advised to alter my point of view.  So please post comments and enjoy the articles.
